This Friday, October 13th, 2006, Fonogenic presents: Live at Tangier

This week we welcome three newcomers to the fonogenic scene. Leila Florentino came to our attention by submitting her music on fonogenic.com artist submit. She sent us a CD and I immediately connected to her level of songwriting, lyrics and sense of melody. You can hear the influences of Joni Mitchell and Leonard Cohen. The quality of musicianship on her album is also very high which prompted me to inaugurate her into our lineup for this friday. Look for her LP, Sail on fonogenic.com soon. Leila was great enough to recommend two more fine acts for the night: Janna Marit and Amy Raasch. Don Was (iconic producer of Dylan, Iggy, Seger) describes Amy as "A force to be reckoned With". Janna Marit, "sounds like a moonlit daisy." If you feel like discovering some great new music in the ideal setting of Tangier, save Friday.
