Jason Darling
"Simplicity is complexity." This is what Jason Darling carried around in his wallet for seven years and it has been his approach to songwriting, lyrics, and guitar playing ever since. An album of his own material entitled Underground was recorded in six days at a studio in Venice, California for the Surprise Truck label. Underground showcases Jason's ability to write, arrange, produce, and play all the instruments. As on Naess' Comatised, his slide guitar playing is a notable element of the recording. The 12 songs reflect Jason's experiences in New York. Panic Stricken is also featured on the CD. In between touring, Jason returned to Electric Lady Studios but this time as a session player working with such groups as LFO and the Groove Theory. He also co-produced the group Bonnie Lundy with Jesse Murphy (of the John Scofield Group) and co-wrote the song Angelika with Gabriel Gordon, featured on his Frequency CD (Surprise Truck). Jason has also recently been working with Tricky.
